Five Reasons To Book Dairyhouse Farm Somerset As Your Wedding Venue

THERE ARE SO MANY REASONS TO CHOOSE THIS VENUE FOR YOUR WEDDING AND HERE ARE MY TOP 5

Choosing a venue is up there with the right dress and the photographer when making decisions for your wedding day. I rank them as the three most important planning decisions to make. Having shot a wedding at the Dairyhouse Farm, here is a photographer’s insight as to why it makes for the ideal venue!

1) You can invite lots of guests!

The Dairyhouse Farm boasts a huge barn which according to their own website can accommodate up to 150 sit down guests for dinner or up to 200 for a buffet style dinner. When I was there myself there was plenty of room for all the tables and guests and I was still able to easily walk around to capture all the different photos that I needed to during the speeches. Once set up for the evening the barn easily accommodated a huge set for the band with plenty of room for dancing and the guests could easily spread out and sit down if they wanted to.

2) The Orchard Garden

At various points during the wedding day I found that the orchard was a great space for people to take their drinks and have a conversation. It was also hugely popular with the children that attended this wedding as it had various lawn games available for them to enjoy. From a photographer’s perspective it also boasted so many gorgeous spots for candid photos of the guests and the bride and groom.

3) It has amazing photo locations everywhere!

Obviously as a photographer, I am leaning towards this being a good reason to book any venue. The Dairyhouse Farm has so many unique and gorgeous spots for photos that one is spoilt for choice. The chances are you’ll have so many great photos taken here you won’t know which ones to print! From the Orchard Garden, to the stables, the barn itself, various trees that are cleverly adorned to bring out their best, nice seating areas, benches, pathways, even the big field opposite the venue looks amazing in photos! Both the candid photos and your portraits will look amazing here, there was no corner of the whole venue that didn’t look like a great place to take some amazing photos. Here are some of my favourites below!

4) Free camping!

As if the lure of having an epic wedding day is not enough, you also get to put your travelling guests up in a tent if they want to. The field also boasts ample parking space for the cars of those who choose to drive to your wedding as well. (This info is from their website and accurate at the time of writing this blog post) Having had a good look around when at the venue, the field is ideal for happy campers and it would make for an excellent addition to an already great day for those that don’t want an expensive hotel room somewhere and can’t get back home the same night.

5) So many options when decorating the barn

Like with a lot of great venues, the Dairyhouse Farm allows you to put your own “stamp” on the place for your special day. The barn is so rustic and quaint already so you shouldn’t need much doing to turn it into your vision of the perfect wedding day. The outside space, as I’ve already eluded to is extremely picturesque and whatever bunting you add will make it look amazing!
