Rustic Wedding Venues: A Perfect Blend of Old and New
When it comes to planning a wedding, choosing the perfect venue is one of the most important decisions you'll make. A rustic wedding venue is an excellent choice if you're looking for a unique, memorable, and cost-effective option. Here are five reasons why a rustic venue should be on your shortlist:
1. A Unique and Memorable Setting
One of the things I love about rustic wedding venues is the unique and memorable settings they offer. A rustic barn or working farm is full of charm and character, making it an excellent choice for couples who want a different wedding from the norm. If you're looking for a rustic wedding venue in South Wales, I recommend checking out Rosedew Farm. This family-run working farm offers a beautiful barn and outdoor spaces for your special day. Here is some information from their own website: The great limewashed walls can be dressed however you please, with fairy lights, drapes, bunting, flowers - let your imagination run wild! This is why we guarantee at least one day of exclusive access to your party to transform the Barn. The barn will be set up for your ceremony upon your arrival, with the dressed tables concealed behind a curtain and ready to be laid up. To make this even easier, there is a minimum two night stay in the cottages immediately adjacent to the Barn (sleeping 20), so you can rope in your nearest and dearest to decorate! You can later reward them with a BBQ and a beer in the enclosed garden of the Cowshed.
On the morning of the wedding, we know you’ll be busy being pampered - so we can arrange a breakfast grazer to be set up for Team Bride and a delivery of breakfast rolls to Team Groom! Alternatively, the Cafe at Acorn is open from 9am, serving everything from full breakfasts to freshly baked croissants.
The guests arriving for your ceremony can park overnight in our free onsite car park, before joining the remaining guests in the Cwtch in preparation for the Ceremony. After the Ceremony as you relax and enjoy your reception drink and canapés, the barn will transform in time for your Wedding Breakfast. We’ll take down the curtain and place the tables according to the table plan - as if by magic! The Bar is run by Bella Rose Wedding Planners, find out more about their services below.
2. A Blend of Old and New
Rustic wedding venues offer the perfect blend of old and new. They seamlessly blend traditional charm with modern chic, giving your wedding day a unique and stylish feel. One venue that does this well is Mounton Brook Lodge, located in South Wales. Mounton Brook Lodge is a rustic and enchanting wedding venue, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The venue gets its name from the Mounton brook or stream, which runs alongside the property and winds its way down to the Severn estuary, providing a picturesque backdrop for your special day.
This unique Grade II listed 17th-century former coaching inn has recently undergone an extensive renovation, which included the addition of a wonderful character extension. The renovation has transformed the venue into an elegant and stylish space, blending contemporary and modern chic with authentic and traditional character, ensuring that Mounton Brook Lodge will exceed your expectations.
Located in Pwllmeyric, just outside the historic market town of Chepstow in Monmouthshire, Mounton Brook Lodge is conveniently located on the Welsh border, within easy reach of The Severn Bridge, Monmouth, Cardiff, Newport, Bristol, Bath, Hereford, Ross on Wye, The Forest of Dean, Gloucester, and Cheltenham. The venue's location provides easy accessibility for you and your guests, allowing you to enjoy the picturesque setting without the hassle of long-distance travel.
3. Endless Photo Opportunities
A rustic wedding venue provides endless photo opportunities. From the natural beauty of the surroundings to the unique features of the venue, there are plenty of options for capturing beautiful photos of your special day. You can choose to have your photos taken in a charming barn, a working farm, or a beautiful outdoor location.
4. All-Weather Options
The unpredictable British weather means that it's always a good idea to choose a wedding venue that offers all-weather options. Many rustic venues, such as Dairyhouse Farm in Somerset, have large converted barns and multiple outdoor spaces, including orchards. This means you can celebrate in style no matter what the weather has in store. Dairyhouse Farm is a beautiful and rustic wedding venue that has been the site of many spectacular weddings since opening its doors, including the very first wedding held there in August 2016. The owners transformed the old cow stall into a stunning venue for Aly and Nick's special day and decided that it was only right to share the beautiful setup with other couples.
Aly and Nick are incredibly passionate and proud of the service they provide, offering a friendly and relaxed atmosphere for you and your guests to enjoy and create memories that will last a lifetime. With its beautiful converted barn and multiple outdoor spaces, Dairyhouse Farm is the perfect location for your dream wedding.
5. Cost-Effective
Rustic wedding venues can be a cost-effective option for your big day. Many rustic venues offer affordable packages that include everything you need for your wedding, from venue hire to catering. Plus, with their natural charm and beauty, you won't need to spend a fortune on decorations.
