Torthworth Court Wedding

MY LAST WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY BOOKING OF 2022 COULDN’T HAVE BEEN HOSTED AT A MORE WORTHY VENUE.

As a wedding photographer, there are always certain venues or at least a type of venue on your bucket list and De Vere Tortworth Court is up there as one of the elites. I teamed up with props studios who invited me to be the photographer for their video plus photo package.

This place is steeped in history. The estate belonged to the Duice family for 350 years and still boasts a lot of its original fixtures and fittings. Fast forward to the modern day and as well as the history, the hotel now also has a great modern feel to it.

There wasn’t a corner of this place that I didn’t explore without having my breath taken away.

As a wedding venue it is perfect for many reasons. The bride and groom can both get ready on site which makes logistics a lot easier to live with, especially for a wedding photographer.

The ceremony and reception at Jessica and Scott’s wedding was hosted in the Orangery, a grand conservatory built in 1874 with a huge ornamental glass ceiling and enough space for 100 guests (according to the official De Vere Tortworth Court website)

New Years Eve gave us the typical winter weather of continuous rain, but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the wedding party one single bit!

Despite the rain stopping us from being able to use a lot of the gorgeous outside space that De Vere Torthworth Court boasts, we were still able to capture some incredible images. The bandstand offered Jess and Scott much-needed shelter whilst providing a spectacular backdrop for their wedding portraits. There is also a gorgeous archway leading up to the main entrance of the venue which provided yet more cover from the elements whilst acting as an inspiring setting for some more photos.

after the ceremony, speeches, and wedding breakfast had been concluded, the orangery was changed over into party mode. this wedding party had their dancing shoes on and it was an extremely enjoyable evening.

The wedding coordinators at De Vere Torthworth Court did a fantastic job throughout the day and each transition between events was seamless. The evening was set up beautifully and they set the scene for what turned out to be a good old-fashioned knees-up worthy of not only a wedding party but New Year’s Eve as well.
