The Beauty of Non-Posed Wedding Photos

The Beauty of Non-Posed Wedding Photos

One of the main things my clients worry about when planning their wedding photography is being posed. The whole reason I became the type of wedding photographer that I am today is that when I got married myself I was petrified I would have to pose for photos. I had been a guest at so many weddings in the past where the photographer spent all day directing guests and making them pose, or take the bride and groom away for a 2-hour photo shoot!

There is no way I ever wanted that for my own wedding and I soon realised that all of my ideal clients are the same way inclined.

They’re just living in the moment, I never asked them to stand like that and do that.

Non-Posed Wedding Photos Capture Genuine Moments

One of the biggest advantages of non-posed wedding photos is that they capture genuine moments. When you are posing for a photo, it can be difficult to relax and act natural. Non-posed photos, on the other hand, capture real moments and emotions, which is what makes them so special. With non-posed wedding photos, you will be able to look back on your wedding day and relive the genuine moments that made it so special. So many of my past couples get back to me and tell me that they saw so many photos in the gallery that they hadn’t even noticed me taking the photos and how happy they are to see so many special moments captured in such a way.

Non-Posed Wedding Photos Tell a Story

Another advantage of non-posed wedding photos is that they tell a story. Each photo captures a moment in time, and when you put them all together, they create a beautiful and unique story of your wedding day. If you take into account that someone like me will be with you from the moment you start to get ready in the morning all the way through to the dance floor carnage, there are so many elements to the story of your special day that come together.

Non-posed photos can capture everything from the little details to the big moments, and together they create a narrative that is truly special.

Non-Posed Wedding Photos Are More Natural

Posed wedding photos can often feel forced and unnatural. So many times I have seen other photographers barking orders at people, or demanding to place arms here and stand over there looking that way and it just seems so awkward and fake.

With non-posed wedding photos, you can let your natural beauty and personality shine through. Non-posed photos capture you and your guests as you are, in a more natural and relaxed state. This makes for more authentic and beautiful photos that you will cherish for years to come. Non of my clients have been professional models who know how to pose. They are all normal people who just want to enjoy a great day and have some incredible images to remember the day.

Non-Posed Wedding Photos Are Fun

Let's face it, weddings can be stressful, but they are also a lot of fun. Non-posed wedding photos capture the fun and lighthearted moments of your wedding day. They allow you to let loose and enjoy yourself and capture those moments for you to look back on and enjoy for years to come. Some of my favourite moments are the ones you see on the dance floor for example. Usually, someone is laughing, dancing, or doing something fun, and everyone is in such a good mood, it just sets such an awesome vibe and tone for natural photos. Imagine having a party and then being asked to stand still in a heart shape so I can climb on a chair and shoot a really crap group shot of everyone. Talk about a party pooper!

Non-Posed Wedding Photos Are Unique

Finally, non-posed wedding photos are unique. They capture the essence of your wedding day in a way that is completely different from posed photos. Non-posed photos are unique to your wedding, and they allow you to express your personality and style in a way that is true to you. Every wedding I have ever been to is unique and tells its own story. Each bride and groom have had their own ideas on how to decorate the venue, certain elements which add a uniqueness to their own story within the details of the gallery, friends and family that most of the year wouldn’t all be in the same room together and all celebrating something as happy as your wedding, it’s literally the most unique type of occasion and letting the day flow as it is intended makes for the best photos.

In conclusion, non-posed wedding photos are a must-have for any wedding. They capture genuine moments, tell a story, are more natural, are fun, and are unique. So, if you want to have beautiful and authentic photos of your wedding day, be sure to choose a photographer who specializes in non-posed wedding photos.
